Rating: 3/5

After his much expected and a high budget film, ‘Shakti’ disappointed the audience as well as the team associated with the film, Jr. N.T.R after a break of more than a year, appeared as ‘Oosaravelli’. The movie was released as a ‘Dussera’ gift to the fans of Jr. N.T.R and Nandamuri family. Right from the audio release to the trailers, and the pre promotion of the film, there was a much talk about the title and everyone anticipated their own way about the film’s story and even the result. Now, what is the actual result of the film, in my perception, to know, read further;

Story:

Tony (Jr. N.T.R) is a guy, who does anything for money. He comes to Hyderabad in search of Niharika (Tamanna) and is all the time, back of her to ask her to love him. Meanwhile, he also turns an ‘Oosaravelli’ and goes on killing certain set of people. Till the second half, why Tony is killing people would not be revealed. After the flash back, then the climax and then is the entry of Prakash Raj as ‘Bhajju Bhai’. The story is a connect of one sequence to the other. It is better for me to not to reveal much more than this. The rest of the story is to be seen on screen.

Analysis:

The first half of the film and almost an half an hour of the second half revolves around one concept that is ‘suspense’. Too much of not revealing the reason of the hero’s behavior, might lead to some what bore dome to the audience. Once the suspense is revealed then there is a climax sequence and nothing more. Jr. N.T.R is a highlight of the film. But, some of his action sequences have been wasted as the audience would be thinking about the story of the film and could not enjoy the sequences. The songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad are a highlight and atleast three songs in the film are worth listening. But, the overall film appears to be a bit slow.

Performance:

Director Surender Reddy, who has been waiting to make a successful film with Jr. N.T.R, since the average flick ‘Ashok’ has worked very hard for ‘Oosaravelli’ and took lot of care in the screenplay and holding the enthusiasm. He made this film with lots of Technical Values. Jr. N.T.R is a show stealer. His acting, dance and action sequences and his entire performance in the film are a highlight. Even Tamanna had her share of role to play. Certain sequences elevated her acting skills. But, the chemistry of both the lead pair did not gel to a maximum extent. Prakash Raj was always the best. But, the story and the elevation of the same, made Prakash Raj’s character not up to the mark. Even Jaya Prakash Reddy’s comedy track was routine. Rasool Ellore’s Cinematography is a highlight and worth mentioning. The Story of Vakkantam Vamsi and the dialogues of korataala Ravi are a highlight as well. There are certain dialogues that made the fans of Jr. N.T.R clap after listening to them. Over all, the film has a new kind of an approach and is worth watching. But, certain sequences and the takeoff of the story could make you impatient for some time.

Final Word:

‘Oosaravelli’, a solace to Jr. N.T.R and Surender Reddy!
